    • What-ever. Next time you talk to such a person, dont be afraid to call them an idiot to their face.

      Because surely they are.

No Country for Old Men is currently #3 all time on my greatest/favorites list. I cant say enough about how much I love it….

But Drivel. Cmon now. How can you be all Exorcisted out here and only give that movie an 8? An 8? Man…. WHERE did the exorcist lose 2 points? What are you docking it for? LOL 😀

      • I’d say it’s my #1 of all time, got the final ‘dreams of my father’ scene coming in my next ‘great scenes’ update. What are your #2 and #1? I’m curious.

As for the exorcist, i’m not entirely sure. Had it as an 8.5 after my first viewing then took it down to an 8 after the 2nd viewing, i’m sure i had reasons i just can’t remember what they are! Generally not a huge fan of horror so it’s a good rating coming from me.

      • The Godfather and The Empire Strikes Back

        They’re my favorite great movies.

Citizen Kane may be a great movie, but it’s nowhere near one of my favorites.

Rocky III is one of my favorites, but I can’t tell someone it’s great with a straight face.

So the only way ranking movies ever made sense is to meld the two concepts. I could argue they’re great, but also say how crazy I am about them personally. 😀

I’d be interested to get your take on my “Exorcist” piece –

If you get the time, check it out!

  1. Good to see the Assassination of Jesse James so high on your list.

I’m also one of the idiots that really didn’t like the ending of ‘No Country for Old Men’. I saw it when it premiered in Leeds and for a long time I thought it was going to be a five star film. Then the end bumped it down to a four star. It didn’t make sense to do what they did off-camera. The ending didn’t ruin the film, but it stopped it being a perfect one.
